It is scientifically proven that affirmations can rewire our brains with new beliefs. Positive affirmations change our brains at a cellular level. “Thoughts have a direct connection to your health,” stated Dr. Joseph Dispenza, author of books on physics, the brain, and reality.

Our thoughts generate chemicals in our brains. If we think positively, we experience a chemical called dopamine, which creates happiness and positivity. Conversely, if we think negatively, it releases a chemical called cortisol, which leads to negativity and a worse reality. By speaking and writing positive affirmations every day, we can foster positivity and turn our desires into reality.

A study revealed in the journal social cognitive and affective neuroscience that what goes on in our brain when we practice affective positive affirmation every day.  The researchers used MRI to find that writing, speaking, and thinking positive affirmations activates the reward Centre’s in the brain – The ventral striatum (VS) and ventromedial prefrontal cortex (VMPFC).  To make this easy, these area centers are the same reward Centre that responds to other pleasurable experiences.

Regular practicing affirmations activate those areas of the brain to make happiness and positivity.

Famous researcher Christopher Casio said, “Many studies have shown that these circuits can do things like dampen pain and help us maintain balance in the face of threats.”

Self-positive affirmations eradicate negative thoughts by directly affecting the brain’s neural pathways and changing the chemical balance. At these times, our subconscious mind is in an active state and starts to work after accepting our request. This time is called the theta state, when our creative mind stops thinking and the habitual mind starts to work. Scientific studies have shown that feeling happy, excited, or joyous for 5 minutes can enhance your immune system for 6 hours. Conversely, feeling grief, anger, depression, hate, or jealousy for 5 minutes can suppress your immune system for 6 hours.

In a meditative state (whether lying or sitting), close your eyes and place your right hand on your left chest to relax. Affirm these words to relax all your organs: “I am becoming relaxed; all my organs are relaxed; I am feeling relaxed from my feet to my head; I am calm and peaceful.” After your mind becomes calm and peaceful, you can start affirming the following words repeatedly with feeling and faith:

If you are having trouble in a relationship with your partner and want to resolve it, practice affirmations regularly, especially before sleep and after waking up in the morning.
